Pumpkin Carving Party

Halloween is coming. Have you already carved your pumpkins?

If not, then it´s time for a pumpkin carving party.

Call your friends, get lots of pumpkins, choose some halloween music, get some drinks and start your pumpkin carving party. Lots of friends just had amazing pumpkin parties at the weekend which I can only recommend (watch the awesome pictures).

Besides, you can make fantastic pumpkin soup and pumpkin cake out of it.

After having created your spooky pumpkins, put them in front of your house or use them as decoration for one of the great upcoming halloween parties this weekend.

So, let´s dress up and go on the streets this weekend. A lot will be going on in the Boston Area.

Happy Halloween!

(A lot is also going on in Salem, and at Fright Kingdom and Spookyworld/Nightmare New England)

Hiking in the White Mountains

Hiking during foliage is awesome.

While hiking right now, you´ll see the last leaves amazingly colored on the trees. Passing lakes, streams and the wilderness offers great views of landscape.

For a short day hike to a shelter or a hut, I recommend hiking on the Wild River Trail to the Perkins Notch Shelter. The trail is really diversified including the difficulty level. If it has rained, it can get muddy and the streams are hard to cross but if the weather is nice, this trail is amazing. Next to the shelter is a pond where you can get your water and you can even have a campfire. This campfire helps you to stay warm if you face freezing temperatures at night. Therefore make sure you have good equipment.

So, think of spending one unforgettable weekend in the White Mountains to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature of New England.

FORE!!! North Shore Fall Golf

I have got to talk golf today. It was such a beautiful day to be out.
I am so into fall golf so I must tell you about the fun golf courses in the North Shore where I have played. If you're into golf it's a good time to get out there and play. One reason is that it's not as crowded this time of year. It's much more easier to just walk on without setting up a tee time. So keep your clubs in the trunk and get out when you can! Also, there are a lot of deals and discounted rates now too! I played Sagamore Springs in Lynnfield today which is not too far out of Boston. Its located right off 128, and is next to wakefield, reading and middleton. If you go onto their website you can get a coupon for "mid-day" golf (12:30-3:00pm) it's only 16$ for nine holes, or $36 for 18. Golf can be an expensive hobby but this is the time to take advantage. Check out http://www.sagamoregolf.com/ for more info.

Another cool course with a great rate right now is Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown Ma. They are under construction at the moment but are charging the 9 hole price for 18 holes. If you can deal with some of the tee boxes beeing ripped up then you should try this place. Its a beautiful area this time of year, and their restaurant Keon's has some pretty good food to try after you play your round. Check it out at http://www.blackswancountryclub.com/.

Old Salem Greens Golf Club has a great rate now as well and is a fun little course to play. Try 18 holes for two people for only $36 between the hours of 11am and 3pm. That is a great price and Salem is such a fun place to check out this month with all the haunted happenings going on. So go ahead, get out play a round of golf and then hit up the downtown for some happening spots to eat, drink and just explore all the cool things Salem has to offer.
Call 978-774-2124 for a tee time, or you can always check it out on http://www.salem.com/.

"One Day. One Thousand Memories": King Richard's Faire

King Richard's Faire has been a landmark festival in New England for many years. It is not only the oldest, but is the largest Renaissance Fair that New England has to offer! However, this festival ends October 24th and the time to go is now!

Located in Carver, Massachusetts (only about an hour south of Boston, heading towards Cape Cod), King Richard's Faire is a day of fun for the entire family. Adult tickets (ages 12+) are $26, children tickets are $15, and children under age 4 are free! The entrance fee allows one to transport back in time to a time of the European Renaissance.

At King Richard's, one can find dancers, jousters, knights, kings and queens! There are a variety of events featuring acrobats, jugglers, beautiful horses, and an exotic royal zoo (which holds a real life Liger!)

There is also an extreme variety of different foods and drinks for the whole family to enjoy! Take a bite out of an authentic piece meat while sipping your favorite brew (or soda). There are also several modern day vendors, as well as vegetarian options too!

So, with only a few weeks left to enjoy this great festival, make sure to take a day off, step back in time and head down to Carver, MA. King Richard's Faire will surely not disappoint! For more information, including contact information, please visit King Richard's official website
