The 14th Annual Joshua's Run

Looking for something to do this weekend that is good for you and benefits a GREAT cause? Why not check out Joshua's Run in Scituate on Saturday, benefiting pediatric oncology research.

What: There is definitely something for everyone. There are three runs: the 5 Mile Cliff Challenge, claimed to be one of the most scenic road races in MA, the 2 Mile, or the Kids Fun Run. Every tough hill in the 5 Mile Cliff Challenge is named after one of the "Hill Heroes," who are patients of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Runners can channel the strength of these heroes as they tackle the tough hills.

When: It's this Saturday, October 23 on the South Shore in Scituate, MA. Race registration is available on-line or on race day beginning at 7:30AM. 5 Mile starts at 10:00 AM, 2 Mile starts at 9:00 AM, Kids Fun Run at 8:30 AM.

Cost: Pre-registration fee: $20.00, race day registration: $25.00. Kids Fun Run: $5.00. Don't forget, all benefits go towards pediatric oncology research!

Getting There: It's an easy drive from the Boston area; just plug the address for St. Mary's Parish Center (2 Edward Foster Rd, Scituate, MA 02066) into your GPS or Google Maps. Directions are also available here. Traffic won't be too bad on a Saturday morning, but if you'd rather take public transport, take the commuter rail from South Station to Greenbush. Registration, start, and finish is all at St. Mary's Parish Center.

Forecast: Saturday in Scituate, Sunny and 60.

Basically Boston hopes that you'll come out to help this great cause, and wishes good luck to all the runners! Please visit the website for information on how you can help out.
