Downtown Crossing Holiday Market
Tomorrow, Saturday the 27th, marks the opening of the Downtown Crossing Holiday Market. Opening hours are Monday through Saturday from 11am until 7 pm and Sunday from 12 noon until 6 pm. The Downtown Crossing Holiday Market will be open though Christmas Eve.
This is a great alternative to the mall. It's outdoors under a tent, located on Summer St. across from Macy's. It's really close to the Downtown Crossing T Stop. Every week there will be different vendors, all offering selections of products that will make great holiday gifts. You'll be able to pick out gifts that are a little different, rather than something off the shelves that everyone will be buying. The list of artists and vendors that will be there and when is here.
Insider tip: The City of Boston is offering two hours of free metered parking every Saturday and Sunday until December 26th. Just enough time to pop into the Downtown Crossing Holiday Market!

Happy Thanksgiving!
No school and work, everything is closed. It´s a holiday and everyone´s spending time with family...
If you haven´t already done so, prepare some food for dinner. I recommend these recipes:
Bake a nice pumkin pie or apple pie,
make some side dishes and vegetarian food and get a turkey or tofurkey.
Then, one of the best holidays of the year can start. Thanksgiving is great to gather your family and friends and enjoy a nice dinner in a cozy atmosphere.
After a dinner with plenty of food or a night out with your friends, don´t forget to go to Macys at 4 am. Shopping starts in Downtown Boston and Macys waits with great deals for all shopping fans. You also find lots of Black Friday shopping deals at Wrentham Village Premium Outlets.
We wish you a happy thanksgiving and a successful Black Friday shopping tour!

Black Friday Shopping Deals
This Friday, November 26th is the day the bargain hunters come out not so bright, but very early. Be sure to check out what all the fuss is about at Wrentham Village Premium Outlet's Annual After Thanksgiving Black Friday Shopping Event. Beginning Thanksgiving night at Midnight, you'll find some of the best deals of the season. This sale features 10 percent off already outlet-priced merchandise from: midnight to 7 am. This sale lasts three days long. It goes on until the 28th offering extended hours for shoppers. Holiday shopping continues on Saturday, November 27th from 8am-10pm. While you're there, you'll definitely get into the Christmas spirit by listening to Christmas Carols performed by the Victorian themed carolers that will be walking through the courtyards each and every Saturday until December 18th. Sunday, November 28th, Santa leaves the North Pole to make a special trip to Wrentham, MA. He will arrive on the Wrentham Fire Department's Ladder Truck to greet the children present. So don't forget to grab your camera before leaving. Each store is running its own promotions so check out the sale info.
No matter which direction you're coming from, or how close you think you live from the outlets, leave your house EARLY! With sales like this, you're bound to hit some traffic. Be prepared to deal with large crowds and to wait in lines. But, finding low-priced great gifts for everyone on your list this year makes this weekend's shopping event worthwhile. Also, beware of bargain shoppers- some can tend to get aggressive when it comes to saving money.

The Swapaholics at Downtown Crossing
So, the holidays are coming, money is tight, and your closet is overflowing with last winter's clothes. Well, ladies AND gentlemen, thanks to The Swapaholics at Downtown Crossing you can clean out your closet and get something in return.

For just $12, on Thursday, November 18th, you can swap a bag of your lightly worn clothes, shoes, or accessories that you're just not feeling anymore for a whole new bag of clothes, shoes, and accessories! Just head down to 24 Bromfield St between 7pm and 8pm for the swap. Click here for tickets and details.
The best part about the swap: $1 from every ticket will be donated to Project Place, and all leftover clothing from the swap will be donated to Goodwill Boston.
If you don't want to swap, you can drop off your old clothes from noon until 6:30 pm. You'll also get great pre-holiday discounts to Downtown Crossing shops & restaurants. Sounds like a good deal to me!
Blogger's Note: Thanks to Wonder Women of Boston for the heads up about this event!

Diggin the Daily Grommet

This website is so cool, it just has to be shared with you! It is a company located right here in Lexington MA, a suburb right around the corner from Boston. So, Have you visited the Daily Grommet yet? If not you need to check it out. It is a website that features a "daily grommet" every day. What is that exactly?? A grommet is a new product that is being introduced for the first time on this website. The products can be pretty interesting and different as well as practical and eco-friendly. They make you say to yourself, why didn't I think of that? The site gives entrepreneurs a chance to launch their product in a very cool unconventional way. There is a video with every grommet and of course a story behind it's making. Hundreds of people send in their products in hopes of getting chosen to be featured as a daily grommet. It is a really cool site and even if you don't purchase a thing it's neat to see all the crazy products and the story and people who are behind them...
Have some fun and check it out
