Want something fun and inexpensive to do this upcoming weekend? Why not visit the Sam Adams Brewery! I went this past saturday and had a grand old time. They don't even charge you for the tour, all they ask is for you to donate two dollars which goes to local Boston charities! Of course I donated more, I mean it's for a good cause, it's an informative interesting tour and most importantly they give out free samples of their delicious beer! It was really neat to learn how they make their beer and the history behind Sam Adams. If you arrive on a busy Saturday you may have time to kill while waiting for the next tour, they do not have a restaurant or bar on site but they do have a trolley shuttle that is free and fun that takes you over to a local bar called Doyle's cafe. The trolley blasts fun music and has these crazy hydrolics that bump you all over the place when they hit the breaks! The other really cool thing is that when you buy any sam draft beers at Doyle's and show your server the stamp on your hand that you received from the brewery, you can take your pint glass home! And, there is no limit...Well, I am sure there actually is some limit, just don't go and get too tipsy before your tour. This is really an all around fun time, I highly recommend it to you all, as long as you're 21 plus! Below, you will find a link to the Sam Adams and Doyle's website to get information about the tour. Also, check out a cool video from Jim Koch, who founded the Sam Adams Brewery in 1984. He is a cool guy who loves his beer and especially fond of the Boston Brewery located right in Jamaica Plain.
